Scope and Contents

The collection consists of a Michigan Agricultural College Federal Preparatory School diploma (1923), and a 1922 certificate for completion of a M.A.C. two year short course. Both were awarded to Cleo M. Colburn. The short course certificate is undated but the tube it was mailed to Colburn in was dated February 18, 1922. The return address was Short Course Department, Michigan Agriculture College (now Michigan State University).

Edward J. Frost collection

Scope and Contents The Edward J. Frost collection contains a photograph album of cyanotypes created by Edward J. Frost of Michigan Agricultural College. Frost made the cyanotype prints from negatives borrowed from M.A.C. Professor Rolla C. Carpenter. The images were taken circa 1888, and are of buildings, grounds, students, and interior shots of classrooms, greenhouses, library, museum and shops. The collection consists of photocopies of letters written by William Fraser, Eugene Law, and Fred E. Miller to John C. Fraser, his wife Mrs. Eliza M. Fraser or John Fraser (father of William and John C.) The letters describe their life at Michigan Agricultural College (now Michigan State University). They write about work, classes and activities.
